Downtown Brentwood is home to one of the most community-friendly parks in the city, Brentwood City Park. Even though the park is considerably small, it happens to be one of the most crowded in the city, with people coming here for fun, relaxation, and community events. Within the perimeter of the park you can find playing structures for kids, a water play area, shaded picnic tables, a gazebo, a beautiful rose garden, and, of course, the famous red chair, the center point of many photographs. Besides being a fun afternoon outing spot, Brentwood City Park is also a place where the community gathers for fun nights. At least once a week, the park hosts fun events and concerts, which bring the community together, so keep an eye out for the latest announcements.
4. Balfour-Guthrie Park
Location: 1701 Balfour Road.
Hours: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Amenities: Sports courts, lighted fields, picnic tables with grills, and a children’s playground.
Located in the midst of a residential neighborhood is Balfour-Guthrie Park, where having tons of fun is inevitable. This unique park in Brentwood has volleyball, tennis, and basketball courts, as well as shaded picnic areas that call for barbecues. Most importantly, the park has vast open spaces, where throwing a frisbee is inevitable. Walk around the park, enjoy views of Mount Diablo, and have a homie picnic, while you wait for the kids to come out of training.
